Black Friday comes early for Sam’s Club — if not as early as standard-bearer Walmart and competitors Amazon and Target.
Sam’s Club, a division of Walmart Inc., is previewing some of its upcoming Black Friday deals on SamsClub.com. But exclusive early online access to Black Friday deals won’t begin until the night of Wednesday, November 27 at 9:01 PM ET for Plus members and early Thanksgiving Day, November 28, at 12:01 AM ET for other club members.
The membership shopping club with 600 warehouse locations will be closed on Thanksgiving, but early in-store shopping for Plus members will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29 and run until 10 a.m. At that time, all club members can shop. The sale ends on Monday, December 2.
Sam’s Club is currently having a sale on Plus and Club memberships: You can get a standard one-year Club membership for $25 (regularly $50) and a one-year Plus membership for $50 (regularly $110; includes free shipping on orders of $50 or more and 2% Sam’s Cash on in-club purchases).

Black Friday sales start earlier
Some retailers have already started their Black Friday sales, even though the official date is Friday, November 29, the day after Thanksgiving.
Target kicked off its holiday shopping season earlier this month with a three-day Early Black Friday sale and continues with Deal of the Day specials for members of its free Target Circle loyalty programs every day through Christmas Eve. Earlier this week, Walmart’s online early Black Friday deals and in-store deals are available this weekend. Amazon’s Black Friday week actually starts on Thursday, November 21 and runs through Friday, November 29.
Many shoppers are eager to get an early start on holiday shopping – although there is some uncertainty as to whether consumers will spend more in 2024. The National Retail Federation estimates that consumer spending will increase 2.5% to 3.5% this holiday shopping season compared to 2023, 2.5% to 2.5%. 3.5%.
According to a WalletHub survey, nearly half of shoppers (47%) start their holiday shopping in October or earlier. The main reasons are lower prices and more time to enjoy the holidays. Another 22% say “spreading purchases over several months helps them avoid holiday debt,” WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said in a press release about the survey.
