Utensils dealer cheated of Rs 3.5L by two men posing as doctors in Annapurna area

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a strange incident, a utensils dealer was duped of Rs 3.5 lakh by two persons posing as doctors and compounders in the Annapurna region on Thursday. The suspect came to his house on the pretext of treating his father and allegedly hypnotized the complainant and his father. Until filing this report, the police had no idea about the suspect.

According to Annapurna Police Station staff, Khushal Goyal, a resident of Bhawanipur Colony, has filed a complaint that he is running a shop in Bartan Bazaar. He was at home when someone arrived there around 10am and he informed the police that he had been sent by the doctor for his parents’ treatment. Later he said the doctor would come soon and started waiting for another suspect.

A man arrived there after a few minutes and posted himself as his father’s doctor. He was wearing a kurta-pajama and asked the complainant’s name. He allegedly told Goyal: don’t take care of your parents. Meanwhile, he gave an object as a chillum when he was allegedly hypnotized. Then the man touched Goyal’s father’s feet and took them under his control as well. The father took Rs 3.5 lakh from the almirah and gave it to Goyal, who later gave the money to the suspect. Both suspects then managed to flee from there.

When they heard about the incident, they went to the police station and filed a complaint. A case under Section 420, 34 of the IPC was registered and a search was launched to nab them. CCTV footage in the area is being examined to determine the identity of the suspects. Police said the suspect would be arrested soon.
