Elections 2024: Jane leads NDC and wins 20 seats in C/R

Vice Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is leading a charge at the party’s Executive Council in the Central Region to marshal efforts to win 20 parliamentary seats in the 2024 elections.

The party currently holds 13 of the total 23 seats in the region and Professor Opoku-Agyemang has resolved to ensure that the Central Region “goes green by winning convincingly in both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections” after voting at 7 December have been counted.

Achieving such a feat will require determination, dedication and unwavering commitment, especially in an environment where there will be mutual respect for each other and an absolute appreciation for the unique and distinctive role that each member, from the lowest to the highest rank, plays.

Attending a forum of regional and constituency executives, regional parliamentary caucus and representatives of the Central Regional Council of Elders of the University of Cape Coast’s School of Graduate Studies, the vice presidential candidate stressed the need to ensure that “our statements are seasoned with respect for each other, regardless of who you are and who you are dealing with”, if the quest to annex twenty parliamentary seats and more is the motivation of every member of the party.

“We want to win twenty seats. We should not be complacent about the idea of ​​a stronghold and fear that we have not won this or that constituency before. So we will rest on our oars. Our party is full of stories of how we were able to overcome and win in areas that were thought impossible.”

She also stressed the need for party members to refrain from adhering to past actions or statements and move forward in unity for the supreme interest of the party as this will play an important role in the party’s forward march to victory in the upcoming general elections. elections.

“I don’t support anyone. Someone made me angry. That is a thing of the past and should be there. But this also requires that we be guided in our interactions and statements towards each other, recognizing the fact that some words directed against us are sometimes difficult to let go.”

Professor Richard Asiedu, Chairman of the Central Region, said all efforts are being made to ensure that the region falls for the NDC, stressing that “the gains will be monumental for both the President and Parliaments”.

The Forum discussed other issues related to winning 20 constituencies in the region.

It was also used to raise money to support the party’s activities in the region.

Some members have made special donations to support the region and constituencies during the upcoming limited voter registration.
