Coventry City boss discusses replacing ‘incredible’ Callum O’Hare, as Gus Hamer said

Mark Robins has identified a key area that Coventry City are looking to strengthen in the summer transfer market, while providing an update on the future of Callum O’Hare.

The popular attacking midfielder achieved his best return in his five years with the Sky Blues this season, scoring double figures for the first time in his senior career with ten goals, including doubles against Midland rivals Birmingham and Leicester, and an FA Cup brace against Sheffield. Wednesday.

But Saturday’s final game of the season, at home to QPR (12.30 kick-off), looks set to be the 26-year-old’s final appearance for the club he quickly came to love after his move from Aston Villa, and where the supporters have taken him to their hearts. The out-of-contract player has been offered new terms but has so far refused to sign a new deal and looks likely to leave as a free agent.

Although focused on trying to finish the season with a positive performance and result, Robins has half an eye on his summer recruitment, admitting: “We need more goals from midfield, and with Callum looking to move on Let’s look at that and what happens next.

But who knows, maybe at the end of this season, although I doubt it, Callum will turn around and say he wants to stay. But we don’t know that yet. It’s one of those things that we can hope for but whatever happens we will try to improve where we can and those are the things that Adi (Viveash) and I have talked about in terms of what we can do, what we have in the building and what we can do. how are we going to approach things and shift our focus.

“I don’t want to give too much away, but we’re doing a good job with it, so in our minds that’s where our focus is. Honestly, we need a break, so we’re on vacation, but otherwise we’ll be working all summer.”
