Lemont V. Hunger set for second annual event

LEMONT, IL – Lemont High School’s National Honor Society will be packing and donating 100,000 meals during the Lemont v. Hunger event scheduled for May 11.

Last year, NHS packed more than 50,000 meals during the school’s first Lemont v. Hunger event. Now students aim even higher.

The 100,000 meals will be donated to the West Suburban Food Pantry in Woodridge. Community volunteers can participate or donate; There are two shifts for volunteers, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on May 11.

The National Honor Society is partnering with the meal packaging organization Feed6 for this event. Students and staff from various Lemont High School clubs and groups will work together to achieve the National Honor Society’s ambitious goal, according to an LHS news release.
