North to Shore Festival presents The B-52s and The Weeklings in Atlantic City

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) — Experience the exhilarating energy of one of The best party bands in the worldThe B-52s live with The Weeklings in Ovation Hall, located in the picturesque Ocean Casino + Resort, as part of the North to Shore Festival presented by Prudential. The concert will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 8:00 PM.

The B-52s are one of the most distinctive New Wave bands of the late 1970s. With more than 40 years of groundbreaking party rock and more than 20 million albums in their career, the B-52s are unlikely hitmakers with songs like ‘Rock Lobster’, ‘Dance This Mess Around’ and ‘Love Shack’. Don’t miss Lobster Rocking with The B-52s, along with The Weeklings, in Atlantic City!

The B-52s – Fred Schneider (vocals), Kate Pierson (vocals), Cindy Wilson (vocals) – have sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and have quietly influenced alternative music, fashion and culture for more than forty years. They count John Lennon, Madonna, James Murphy and Michael Stipe among their disciples. Panic! At The Disco, Blood Orange, The Offspring, Pitbull, Roger Sanchez and DJ Shadow sampled classics from the band’s discography, while Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy, The Simpsons, Sugarland and more offered their own covers.

They rose to the forefront of the post-punk movement in America, codified by 1979’s self-titled The B-52s. The record went gold, reaching #152 on Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” and #99 on VH1’s ” Greatest Albums of All Time”. The gold-selling Wild Planet came hot on the heels of 1980. While Keith brilliantly filled the void with music composition and live show guitar work, 1989’s watershed Cosmic Thing transported the B-52s to another galaxy. It moved more than five million copies and spawned a string of Top 10 hits in the form of the Grammy®-nominated “Roam” and “Love Shack,” which Rolling Stone praised among its “500 Greatest Songs of All Time.”

The Weeklings would like to say that they ‘channel’ the music of The Beatles into explosive note-for-note renditions of Beatles classics, uniquely arranged Beatles nuggets like ‘Paperback Writer’ and ‘Baby You’re A Rich Man’ and brilliant, original compositions inspired by the Beatles.

The Weeklings embody the spirit and bold creativity of the 1960s, bringing The Beatles to life through their own brilliant musicianship and charming stage presence. They show their audience what The Beatles were, and what they could be if they performed today. Members of The Weeklings also tour as a backup band for the Springsteen drummer “Max Weinberg’s Jukebox” project.

Tickets are available to purchase online. Ocean Casino Resort is located at 500 Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
