‘Grab them by the p—-‘ video was ‘crisis’ for the Trump team

A leaked recording of Donald Trump claiming he could “grab women by the p—y” plunged his campaign team into a “crisis,” the former press secretary said.

Hope Hicks, the former president called as a prosecution witness for Trump’s ‘hush money’ trial in New York, was ‘angry’ when the ‘Access Hollywood’ tape emerged, initially claiming that it ‘didn’t sound like anything he would say’. .

Ms. Hicks said the recording, released a month before the presidential election, was a “damaging development” for the then-Republican candidate and his campaign.

“I think there was a consensus among all of us that the tape was harmful and that this was a crisis,” she told the court.

The statement is significant because prosecutors allege Trump was determined to prevent damaging stories about his sexual behavior from emerging before the election.

As such, they say, he paid $130,000 to an adult film star with whom he allegedly had an affair and recorded the costs as legal fees. Trump is accused of 34 counts of falsifying company records.
