Peterhead v Dumbarton | Peterhead FC

Peterhead are at Balmoor tomorrow as The Blue Toon welcome Dumbarton for the final league match of the season. The two sides will start at 3:00 PM and will battle for second place; with Peterhead needing only a draw to secure second place. In the three times the two teams have faced off this season, The Blue Toon have emerged victorious twice; including a 3-1 win the last time Dumbarton were at Balmoor in January.

Ahead of Peterhead’s final league match of the 2023/2024 season, Ryan Strachan shares his thoughts:

“The last league game of what felt like a fast season we put ourselves in a position where we can still take ourselves out of League 2. It’s been a tough season in a really physical league, but for the most part we’ve been dealing with the OK. Tomorrow another physically demanding challenge is on the program. Of course we have our eyes on Tuesday and the fact that we may be playing the same team, but our main focus is on tomorrow’s match and maintaining our positive end to the season. I feel that as a group of new staff and players we have done well this season and the boys deserve to be rewarded for the work they have done. Second place would be a good achievement, but the ultimate goal would be promotion.
We have given ourselves an opportunity that we now have to execute. The next few weeks will be crucial for our form, discipline, decision-making on and off the park, rotations for freshness, preparation, injuries, travel, professionalism and some luck too. everything has to click. The hardest part is getting back into the competitions; no team has done it straight away, so we know we have a big task. One task we are excited about. We think we have a team that is suitable for League 1 and that we can compete.”

Peterhead go into Saturday’s match having not lost in their last eight games; while the visitors are unbeaten in their last seven outings.
