‘Surviving R. Kelly’ Producers Announce Documentary About Nicole Brown Simpson Following OJ Simpson’s Sudden Death

Lifetime, in partnership with the producers behind the critically acclaimed Survivor R. Kelly docuseries, has revealed plans for a new documentary focusing on the theme Nicole Brown Simpsonon the occasion of the 30th anniversary of her tragic death.

The announcement of the docuseries comes just weeks later OJ Simpson’s died April 10 from metastatic prostate cancer, sparking conversations on social media about what many consider the trial of the century.

Nicole Brown Simpson, OJ Simpson’s ex-wife was tragically found brutally murdered outside her Brentwood condominium in 1994. Despite OJ Simpson accused and acquitted of her murder, as well as the murder of her boyfriend Ron Goudmanhe was later found liable for both deaths in a 1997 civil lawsuit.

While the timing of the announcement may raise eyebrows, Lifetime claims the project has been in development for over a year, with the aim of providing a platform for Nicole Brown Simpson own story. Titled The Life and murder of Nicole Brown SimpsonThe documentary will feature insights from 50 people close to her and reportedly reveal “shocking new details” about her life and death, as her sisters and close friends come forward for the first time.

Produced by Bunim/Murray Productions for Lifetime, the docuseries features a notable lineup of executive producers, including Jesse Daniels, Ride SaraswatAnd Brie Miranda Bryant by Survivor R. Kelly fame. It is part of Lifetime’s Stop Violence Against Women initiative and is produced in partnership with the National Domestic Abuse Hotline.

The life and murder of Nicole Brown Simpson airs June 1 and June 2 at 8 PM ET/PT.
