Kaleb Cooper reveals the one reason that stopped him from doing I'm A Celebrity

Could he trade the farm for the jungle?

Not so long ago, Kaleb Cooper had never left his hometown of Chipping Norton, in the heart of the Cotswolds. Now he’s talking about the one reason keeping him from leaving the country for Australia for a series of ITVs I’m a celebrity, get me out of here.

It’s been a whirlwind five years for Cooper since teaming up with Jeremy Clarkson for Amazon Prime Video Clarkson’s Farm.

The partnership also goes well beyond television, as their off-screen farming relationship is a very real business operation.

Cooper, who is 25, is acting beyond his years by training 64-year-old Clarkson in the art of tilling arable land.

It’s something that returns for a much-anticipated third season on Friday, May 3, as they battle the aftermath of the closure of West Oxfordshire District Council’s Diddly Squat Farm restaurant.

Earlier this year, Cooper proudly exclaimed: “I’m just getting over my fear of leaving Chipping Norton!”

He was referring to his hugely popular national tour, The world according to Kaleb – Kaleb goes on tour.

We’ve seen him evolve from a young farmhand to something of a bona fide celebrity, with the father-of-two welcoming the move.

And like we said, he’s even open to shows that could take him as far away as Australia I’m a celebrity come and call sometime.

However, the main reason that prevents him from ever taking such a step is real life and his day job. Time simply does not permit it when the opportunity presents itself.

He said: “I want to farm here. I don’t want to leave my family and everything I know.

“This is where I grew up and this is where I will stay.”

The stumbling block could well go further than that for the young man, given his recognition that he is legally able to leave the UK.

He said earlier this year: “I’d love to (I’m a celebrity) but I don’t have a passport yet. I’m just overcoming my fear of leaving Chipping Norton!”

His fear of leaving his rural hometown was enough to make most people scoff in admiration and say, “I have a huge fear of big buildings, imagine if it all collapses!”

He once ventured to London with school as a child, but stayed on the bus that took him and his classmates, saying there were “too many people.” And he’s not wrong about that!

You can see Kaleb in more familiar territory when Clarkson’s Farm season three airs on Prime Video on Friday, May 3.
