BREAKING: Musk will reinstate anti-Semite Nick Fuentes on X

At that point, another user requested Fuentes’ account be reinstated, and Musk, who has an astonishing track record of responding to X users’ requests, responded:

“Fine, he will be reinstated, provided he does not break the law, and let the comments and community notes crush him. It is better to openly refute anti-anything than to simmer in darkness.”

he defended this move, saying: “I can’t claim to be a defender of free speech but then permanently ban someone who hasn’t broken the law, no matter how much I disagree with what they say. This will probably cause us to lose many advertisers and that makes me sad, but a principle is a principle.”

Fate loves irony, but hates hypocrisy.

In January 2023, Twitter suspended Fuentes, less than 24 hours after his account was reinstated, after banning him in July 2021.

In one of his first tweets back, Fuentes posted a video promoting anti-Semite Kanye West’s 2024 presidential campaign, with an apparent reference to an earlier anti-Semitic tweet in which West threatened “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.”
