E-scooters are back on the streets of Regina

E-scooters are allowed to drive on multi-use paths, cycle paths and on roads with a speed limit of 50 km/h or less.

REGINA — They were a hot new thing last summer, and the City of Regina is reintroducing e-scooters. They are provided by two companies, Neuron and Bird.

Users only need the app from one of those companies to start the rental.

The scooters were popular last summer and are another way to get from here to there in the Queen City. There are some rules you need to follow in order to drive one of these scooters safely.

  • One rider at a time. No passengers are allowed.
  • Helmets are mandatory.
  • Riders must be at least 16 years old.
  • E-scooters are allowed to drive on multi-use paths, cycle paths and on roads with a speed limit of 50 km/h or less.
  • The maximum speed on the road and cycle paths is 24 km/h.
  • The speed limit for riding on trails is 15 km/h.
  • Riders should travel on cycle paths whenever possible.
  • E-scooters must follow city parking regulations when parking in residential areas.
  • Please be considerate of others, especially members of the accessibility community, by never leaving e-scooters on a sidewalk, path, or bike path.
  • Shared e-scooters are not allowed on Regina Transit.

This is part of the plan to get Regina to net zero emissions by 2050.
