Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 1000 Release Information

Next in the New Balance 1000 event schedule: a collaboration with Aimé Leon Dore, the New York-based brand founded by MADE In USA creative director Teddy Santis. Santis reveals a first look on his Instagram Stories and takes a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about his time in Astoria, Queens in 1998.

The next ALD New Balance release moves away from the dated aesthetic and instead opts for a sportier vibe that matches the tech-friendly design of the New Balance 1000. The colorway selected is also relatively unexpected based on the print, with only relies on a sporty white/matte silver colorway with the brand’s bold, abbreviated logo appearing on both the tongue and forefoot of the sneaker. The simplicity of the colors lends itself well to the 1000’s layered construction, as the individual panels are easy to spot, but there are some additional touchpoints via the perforated toe box, opaque laces running along the tongue and the mesh-like pattern ( or texture) on the insoles. Finally, rope laces with hiking-style polka dots complete the look.

No release date has been announced at this time, but given Teddy’s first-hand leak, we’re guessing a release will likely arrive sometime this month. As you already know, the New Balance 1000 first debuted via a collaboration with Joe Freshgoods, and also hit GR’s radar in late April via its silver/black colorway. It looks like New Balance will continue the slow and steady build of this reissue, so stay tuned for further developments as we learn more.
