Raw ground beef sold at Walmart recalled due to possible E. Coli contamination – NBC10 Philadelphia

Cargill Meat Solutions has issued a recall for approximately 16,243 pounds of raw ground beef products that may be contaminated with E.coli.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service was alerted to the problem when it learned that previously removed products had been used in the production of ground beef. There have been no confirmed reports of illness resulting from the consumption of these products.

The recall affects raw ground beef produced at Walmart between April 26 and 27, 2024. Their package labels are as follows:

  • Plastic wrapped 2.25 pound containers containing “93% LEAN 7% FAT ALL NATURAL LEAN BEEF”
  • Plastic-wrapped 1.33 pound containers containing four “PRIME RIB BEEF STEAK BURGERS PATTIES”
  • Plastic wrapped 2.25 pound containers containing “85% LEAN 15% FAT ALL NATURAL ANGUS PREMIUM GROUND BEEF”
  • Plastic-wrapped 2.25 pound containers containing “80% LEAN 20% FAT ALL NATURAL Ground Beef”
  • Plastic-wrapped 1.33 pound containers containing four “80% LEAN 20% FAT ALL NATURAL GROUND BEEF CHUCK PATTIES”
  • Plastic wrapped 1.33 lb containers containing four “90% LEAN 10% FAT ALL NATURAL GROUND BEEF SIRLOIN PATTIES”

These products all bear the USDA inspection mark on the front of the label, while the establishment number “EST.86P” is printed on the back of the label. They each have a lot code of 117 or 118.

Buyers are advised not to consume the recalled beef and to throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
