‘I have to look at myself’ – Postecoglou takes responsibility after Spurs lost to Chelsea

Ange Postecoglou admits he will look at his own methods after Tottenham’s defeat to London rivals Chelsea.

Goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson handed Spurs a third defeat and make qualification for next season’s Champions League very unlikely.

And the Tottenham boss says his side were well below the level needed to win the match.

“We didn’t play nearly the kind of football or mentality that I expect from us,” Postecoglou said.

‘That’s up to me. I have to take responsibility for that, after all I am the one who put them there and prepared them for it.

“We were so far away from it, so I have to look at myself and how I am preparing this team.

“We lacked real conviction and positive mindset in our football. We didn’t have any kind of fluidity or aggression, with and without the ball.

“It’s a bit different to us because we’ve always been very competitive, but especially in the first half today it was lacking.”
