In a shocking revenge incident over an alleged extramarital affair, a man named Jayanti Vanzara murdered 35-year-old Jitendra Vanzara of Veda village in Himatnagar in Sabarkantha district by sending a parcel bomb. Jeetendra died on the spot and his 13-year-old daughter, who was first rushed to Vadali Community Health Center and from there to Himatnagar Civil Hospital, died during treatment.
A 9-year-old daughter of Jeetendra is still undergoing treatment at Himatnagar civil hospital. Top police officials said the suspect wanted to take revenge as his wife had an extramarital affair with the deceased and had sent a tape recorder as a package with the car driver and gave him Rs 200 to deliver it to the deceased’s house.
SP Sabarkantha, Vijay Patel, told Mirror that they have registered an offense and identified the auto driver who was asked to deliver the parcel.
The package was delivered to Jeetendra’s house at around 12.30 pm.
“The car driver was unaware that the package he was delivering was a bomb made of ammonium nitrate, gelatin sticks and a detonator used in mining,” Patel said.
Police sources said they have formed teams to arrest the suspects. “We want to know whether the suspect made the parcel bomb himself or had it made. We suspect that the suspects learned how to make such bombs through the internet,” a top police official said.

Fatal attraction
According to police sources, the deceased Jeetendra Vanzara had an extramarital affair with the wife of accused Jayanti Vanzara. “Jayanti’s wife is said to have had an affair with Jeetendra before her marriage, but even after her marriage she continued her extramarital affair. When Jayanti came to know about this, he was furious and wanted to take revenge,” a police source said.
