Ethan O’Donnell walk-off pushes Taconic past Lenox and more

Trailing by one run and with runners on base, Taconic’s Ethan O’Donnell hit a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh against Lenox on Thursday, giving the Thunder a walk-off victory, 7-6.

Lenox got on the board first in the second inning with two runs and added two more runs an inning later. Taconic answered with a run in the fourth inning, but Lenox continued to add runs. The Thunder closed the gap in the fifth with a four-run frame, but the Millionaires regained the lead with a run in the sixth.

O’Donnell went 3-for-3 with three RBI and Edward Ferris went 2-for-4 with two runs. Mitch Hall had a hit that resulted in an RBI.

Pitcher Damon Pause threw five innings and allowed four hits and five runs with nine strikeouts before Chase Wendling came in relief. Wendling struckout two in two innings and allowed one run.

Taconic (9-3) will take on Westfield on Saturday, May 4 at 1 p.m. Lenox (1-4) has Athol next on the same date at noon
