Tiffany Nicole Ervin on Liz Wilcox’s Applebee’s meltdown that kept Q Burdette from manplaining the game

From a blind elimination to an Applebee’s meltdown, Wednesday night’s episode Survivor 46 (on Global TV in Canada, CBS in the US) was a whirlwind of emotions. It all ended when Tiffany Nicole Ervin went to the judges after a 5-3 vote over Q Burdette.

Again, this is a circumstance where someone leaves the game with the Beware Advantage idol in their pocket. But Ervin explained that she did have a strategy going into Tribal.

“I didn’t play the idol on a whim,” she said Yahoo Canada. “There was a certain thought behind it, there was a certain strategy and there was certainly risk taking.”

“You guys haven’t seen it on camera much with me and Charlie (Davis), we had a really good working relationship. We were super close. And Charlie and I had discussed that we could possibly use the idol to find Maria blind (Shrime Gonzalez), or whatever. So that was a thought in my head, combined with the fact that everyone was really fed up with Q at that point… It just came down to me taking a calculated risk and hoping everything works out. .Big risk, big reward.

As we’ve seen throughout the season, there have been several times when Burdette has expressed that he doesn’t particularly want to be on the island, and even tries to quit the game. For Ervin, she realized that it is “super” frustrating to leave when there is someone there who seemingly doesn’t want to be there.

“It’s almost an insult to the game Survivor,‘ she said. “He’s always the guy who says, ‘I’m going to fall on my sword.’ I become one Survivor martyr.’ Son, if you want to go home, just walk out the door.”

“He wanted to say, ‘Oh, well, they took me out.’ And no one offered him that opportunity. It was like doing it the right way, slap in the face, because up until that point, Q was definitely out of the game. But smart for the people who are still there, because that’s who they are : We’re going to use this to our advantage and we’ll just drag him along until we’re done.

We can’t talk about the latest episode of Survivor 46 without talking about Liz Wilcox’s meltdown after the challenge winner, Burdette, won an Applebee’s party. As we know, Wilcox has several allergies and dietary restrictions, which has prevented her from eating much on the island. But on the menu for this challenge reward was the Applebee’s burger that she gets every Wednesday when she goes to the restaurant with her daughter.

After Burdette’s win, he got to choose three people to join him, and he chose Ervin, Kenzie Petty and Maria Shrime Gonzalez, while Wilcox cries. Wilcox was in complete rage, shouting that she sees the others eating every day and that Q was “throwing off” her game.

“Take that uncomfortable feeling you saw on the other side of the TV and multiply it by ten, and that’s how uncomfortable it is,” Ervin recalled. “At that point, there’s really nothing you can do other than just let her have her moment.”

But Ervin also revealed that what we didn’t see in the episode was both Petty and Gonzalez offering to give up their spots for Wilcox, but Burdette wasn’t having it.

“Kenzie and Maria volunteered to give up their spots and Q said, ‘No, I chose what I chose,'” she revealed.

“If I had been in the winning position, I don’t know if I would have chosen Liz, but I also can’t say I would have reacted the same way as Q, because Liz didn’t write my name in the letter. the Tribal previously .So my heart might have been a little softer… At that point, I don’t really think there was any reason why Liz should have expected Q to take her, because there was nothing about this guy’s gameplay or personality that made her should have led him to believe that he would take her.”

Ervin’s next stop in her Survivor experience is the jury, who goes to Ponderosa with Hunter McKnight, Tevin Davis and Soda Thompson.

“I wasn’t ready,” Ervin said. “I was basically a deer in the headlights until I stepped on the boa.”

“When we got to Ponderosa, I said, I don’t want to talk to anyone. Let me get off this boat. Go to my room. I don’t want to be disturbed. I’m going to Ponderosa, Hunter, Soda and Tevin is outside clapping, just so open and welcoming… It just melted the ice block that was around me… It just became a big, super fun, happy time camp for adults.”

But when it came to the events that led to her having to leave at this point in the game, Ervin determined that there is something related to playing with Burdette and that she “might have change,” but she doesn’t know certain whether it is something that ‘should be’. changed.”

“I realized that Q’s personality type is easy to manipulate,” Ervin said. “He’s someone who needs to feel in charge, he needs to feel… he’s a big dog, and I could have turned around completely, I could have said, ‘Oh my God, you’re such a smart man. Let me go.’ along with what you want to do. Tell me what to do.

“But every fiber of my being is just like, I’m a woman, hear me roar. I’m not going to let you explain how to play this game. I don’t care. Especially if you’re loud and wrong No part of my creature could have stayed quiet in those moments when Q came at me and it just felt contradictory and wrong… That ended up being a detriment to my game because everyone ended up using that emotional distraction to take I didn’t take my strategy course, but I could have batted a few eyelashes… But I won’t.’

Even though her time was short and all discussions were in full swing Survivor 50, which will be played with all returning players, Ervin would absolutely participate if invited.

‘Unequivocal. Of course. Without hesitation,” she said.

“I did way better in this game than I ever thought I would. … I didn’t think I would go out there and really hit the ground running, and be such a little strategy girl. … Now that I know this is not only something I enjoy, but also something I am good at, so I will return without hesitation.”
