Mom’s ‘terrible’ Bluey birthday cake draws comparisons to season two episode: ‘I’m Laughing’

We know that Bluish has taken the world by storm, amassing fans of children and adults from all over the world and prompting older fans to create countless forums dedicated to the Aussie animated series. And those adult fans have a capital I – with endless social media posts dissecting every detail of each episode, from the number of tall dogs they can spot to coming up with complicated theories about the paternity of both Brandy and Bluey’s children.

Of course, Bluey themed birthday parties are also all the rage, with parents taking to the various fan groups to talk about how they turned their children’s party into an affair the Heeler crew would be proud of. One such parent recently posted photos of a cake she made for her daughter’s fourth birthday – and received hundreds of comments in response.

“Today is my daughter’s fourth birthday and I tried to make her a blue cake,” the mother wrote on Facebook. “It looks horrible, but her saying ‘ITS BLUEY I LOVE IT’ made the two hours it took to decorate so worth it.”

“I’m laughing but in a very genuine way, I love it…Definitely looks better than anything I’d try,” another added.

Another said: “I see a cake you put all your effort into and I think it turned out amazing!!!!!”

Tons of others shared how much they loved the cake, with one commenter even asking if they could have their own made.

Other fans were quick to draw a comparison between the cake from the OP and the duck cake Bandit tries to make for Bingo’s fourth birthday in the season two episode “Duck Cake.”

“Hey, you can see what it is!” one person wrote. ‘Bluey also taught us with duck cake that things don’t always have to be perfect to make our children happy. The best part is the time and care you put into making it special.”

Another teased: “Sounds like ‘someone’ needs to watch/rewatch how the Bandits duck cake accident turns out, lol.”

“It’s your own duck moment,” another commented.

“This is the equivalent of duck cake! What we find terrible is absolutely everything for our little ones! We can learn so much from our children,” said another.

As previously mentioned, fans have also been in overdrive trying to decipher a clue shown at the end of ‘Surprise’ – the episode that was indeed a surprise after the season three finale, ‘The Sign’. In an adorable full-circle moment, we see Bluey arrive at her beloved Queenslander parents’ home (now with hip, futuristic accents), followed by a mischievous young visitor who fans thought was her child.

On several online fan forums, adult viewers debated who could have fathered the child if he or she was in fact Bluey’s, with the majority of fans certain the father was Mackenzie or Jean Luc.
