V Sivanandan takes charge as Cusat registrar

KOCHI: Dr. V. Sivanandan Achari, Professor of Chemistry, and former Syndicate Member and Director, School of Environmental Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat), has been appointed as Registrar-in-Charge of the University. Dr. Achari follows Dr. Meera V, whose term as Registrar ended on April 29.

Dr. An academic with 23 years of teaching and research experience in Cusat, Achari has held the positions of Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Studies, Coordinator of the UGC-SAP-DRA Research Program, Chairman of the Board of Studies, Industry Advisor. specific environmental issues and process industries. Dr. Achari, a postgraduate with second degree in MSc Analytical Chemistry from the University of Kerala, completed his M Phil, PhD and two postdoctoral research assignments at Delft University of Technology, Netherlands.

He has supervised twelve PhD programs and was instrumental in the purchase of several high-quality equipment that enabled high-level research at the School of Environmental Studies.
