Jaron Ennis vs. Cody Crowley confirmed for July 13 – ‘I’m ready, I can’t wait’

Jaron Ennis will box Cody Crowley on July 13 in defense of his IBF welterweight title.

The fight takes place from the Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, as Ennis returns home. Ennis then fastened the belt Terence Crawford was stripped naked for not defending himself against Boots. Bud decided to give chase Errol Spence Jr. rematch, which later failed. Ennis’ last appearance in Philadelphia was in 2018, where he won Raymond Serrano via a second round KO.

Ennis has not boxed since July last year. He defeated Roiman Villa via TKO in the tenth round to defend his IBF Interim title. After the victory, he became the full champion. Since then, Ennis has been concerned with promotional issues. He took legal action against NOW Boxing. Ennis alleged breach of contract, stating that his four-year contract had been breached.

Ennis claimed he was promised four fights in the first year and three fights per year for the remainder of the deal. These issues have now been resolved with Ennis signing with Matchroom Boxing. Crowley is undefeated, but this is by far his biggest test. The boxer now has his first world title shot after his defeat Abel Ramos March last year to put himself in this position. But of his 22 wins, only nine have come by knockout, meaning he faces a tough test to get Boots to respect his power.

“I’m excited about my homecoming, especially since I’m the first to fight at the Wells Fargo Center, the largest arena in Philly. I can’t wait to show off and deliver a stunning, dominant and crushing performance in front of my family, friends and supporters as I defend and retain my IBF world title in spectacular fashion. I’m willing to kick anyone who gets in my way,” Ennis said

“Ten years ago I arrived in Las Vegas with the dream of becoming a world champion, uninterrupted by the sport. All I have left to do is prove to the world in the City of Brotherly Love that I am an undefeated champion, that my spirit is unbeatable and that I will fight for those who are too afraid to fight.

“I will become the greatest in the world for my father – whom I love and miss dearly – my home country Canada and for world peace, so that others do not have to endure the same suffering. There’s nothing anyone can do to break me. There’s nothing I’m not ready for. This next chapter is already written,” Crowley said

“I’m delighted to be delivering a homecoming defense for Boots. Jaron is boxing’s next American star, and sports stars with all the resources he has should be headlining in their own city. This is just the beginning for Jaron in Philadelphia, a city that absolutely loves their sport, and in Jaron they can take pride in the fact that their hometown hero is the best in the business. July 13th will be a huge night; we can’t wait to return to Philadelphia for the first of many epic nights with Boots,” Hearn revealed
