Sault News: Police in Schreiber Seize Cash, Guns in $126,000 Cocaine Burglary

A 54-year-old suspect has been charged after Ontario Provincial Police concluded a three-month investigation with a raid on a home in Schreiber, Ont.

Police seized 1,262 grams of cocaine, along with cash and weapons.

The investigation, dubbed “Project Plateau,” focused on drug trafficking in Terrace Bay and Schreiber, communities about two hours east of Thunder Bay.

The OPP worked with the assistance of the Provincial Operations Intelligence Unit and the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Intelligence Unit.

The search on Centennial Drive in Schreiber took place from April 30 to May 1. The suspect, a Schreiber resident, has been charged with human trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and weapons charges.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $126,200, police said. The suspect is in custody and will appear in Ontario Court on Thursday.
