Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan recently fined the former president $9,000 for repeatedly violating the silence order in the case.

The order was imposed to prevent him from attacking witnesses and jurors in the case, but that has not stopped Trump from weighing in on the case through his Truth Social media platform.

Merchan ultimately ruled that Trump violated the gag order in seven Truth Social posts and two statements on his campaign site days before the trial began.

“This court’s comprehensive order is lawful and unequivocal,” Merchan’s order read. “Defendant violated the order by posting on social media about known witnesses related to their participation in this criminal trial and by making public statements about jurors in this criminal trial.”
