Neighbor saves two cats and leaves them safely in the house with a note: ‘So grateful’

Doing something good for someone, even a small gesture, can go a long way. Likewise, the person on the receiving end feels immense gratitude and is encouraged to do the same for someone else. Similarly, u/YoltsMCat shared a post recalling the fact that someone came to their aid without their knowledge. They shared their immense gratitude after the person helped prevent their pet cats from running away or endangering themselves. “Someone saved my cats before I realized they were gone and I am so grateful!” read the caption of the post.

The post consisted of a note that the person had written, explaining the entire situation in a common-sense way. The person wrote on the note, “Hey! Your cats went outside around noon today. I put them back.” The person further wrote: “The white one jumped out of my arms and fell a bit, but other than that everything was fine. I just wanted to let you know.” The person made sure the pet cats didn’t hurt themselves, get lost, and encounter a lot of potential danger without the pet parent realizing it. They also wrote a letter notifying the owner a responsible move.

Although the person expected nothing in return, the pet parent was very grateful for their kindness. “I have no idea how the door was opened. I’ve had groceries delivered so I’m a little paranoid that they did something, but I don’t know. All that matters is that they are safe,” they said. The pet parent also mentioned that the letter included the person’s name and apartment number, which they were going to use to send something as a gesture of gratitude. Any pet parent can understand the relief from possible consequences thanks to the kindness of the stranger.

The pet parent also shared a photo of the cute yet mischievous felines safe and cuddly in the sheets at their home. The post received more than 6,000 votes and people highly praised the person for his small but smart work. Many even shared their experiences and were happy that the cats were not endangered. u/Nurcahilaterjin said: “Left the house through the garage and forgot to close the big door. I got a call from the pharmacy because my husky Ezzie was blocking traffic at the pick-up window waiting for a milk bone. By the time I got there, Ezzie was sitting in the pharmacy waiting area, getting scratches from strangers and living his best life. Was lucky that day. It’s nice that someone also took care of your friends.’
