Three annexation requests recommended: Greenville Planning Commission notes

Here is a summary of the May 2 City of Greenville Planning Commission meeting.

Approved: Annexation and repurposing of 100 Woodruff Industrial Lane

Piedmont Natural Gas Company has applied to annex and rezone a 9.81-acre property located at 100 Woodruff Industrial Lane, near the intersection of Verdae Boulevard and Woodruff Road.

The gas company requested that the property be rezoned from an S-1 (Services District) to CV (Civic District in the City of Greenville). The applicant was not present and no one spoke against the application. It was unanimously approved and recommended to the City Council.

Approved: Annexation and rezoning of property on South Calhoun Street

Mark Hogue requested that the property located at 315 S. Calhoun St. be rezoned from an R-M10 (Multifamily District) to an RN-A (Neighborhood A District in the City of Greenville) in the Sterling Special Emphasis Neighborhood.

The total area proposed for annexation is 0.06 hectares. This case represents only part of the property. The rest of the building is already within the city limits. No one spoke for or against the application. The committee unanimously approved the rezoning. The matter now goes to the city council.

Approved: Annexation and rezoning of parcel at 220 Plantation Road

Property owner Kim Norris has applied to annex and rezone 0.27 acres of land on Plantation Road near the Pleasant Valley Special Emphasis Neighborhood in Greenville, but no additions are proposed. No one spoke for or against and the committee unanimously approved the application. It goes to the city council.
