29 places in Odisha record temperature above 44°C, Bolangir hottest at 45°C

Bhubaneswar, May 2: Intense heat waves prevailed in most parts of Odisha on Thursday, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius at as many as 29 places in the state.

While Bolangir emerged as the hottest place with a scorching temperature of 45 degrees Celsius, it was followed by Angul with 44.7 degrees Celsius and Nuapada with 44.6 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack witnessed 39 and 38.6 degrees Celsius respectively.

The Met department predicted that there is no possibility of any significant change in the day temperature in the state in the next three days. However, the temperature is likely to drop by 3-4 degrees in the coming days.
